Sonia Mann belongs to a Sikh Family. Her father, Baldev Singh Mann was the editor of Hirawal Dasta, a revolutionary journal of the Naxalites. Baldev was killed by the Khalistani militants on 26 September 1990 in Amritsar, while he was on his way to see his new-born daughter, Sonia. Her mother, Paramjit Kaur, is a former principal of the Holy Heart Presidency School. Sonia is the only child of her parents. She was very close to her grandmother.

Career
Sonia Mann started her acting career in 2012 with the Malayalam film “Hide n’ Seek.” Next, she played the role of ‘Lekha’ in the Malayalam film “Teens.” In 2013, she made her Punjabi film debut with the Punjabi film “Haani.”

Subsequently, she appeared in the Punjabi films like “Bade Changey Ne Mere Yaar Kaminey,” “25 Kille,” and “Motor Mitraan Di.” Her Hindi film debut came in the year 2014 with the film “Kahin Hai Mera Pyar.” Sonia made her Telugu film debut in 2015 with the film “Dhee Ante Dhee.”

In 2018, the Bollywood actor, Hrithik Roshan, slammed the publicist of the actress, Sonia Mann for allegedly using his name to promote her. Reportedly, Sonia’s publicist sent a press release that the actress might make her debut opposite Hrithik in his film, Super 30.
The actor took to his Twitter handle and wrote,
The frivolous use of my name by PR companies 2 promote their new clients doesn’t bother me a bit. But I really want them to know it doesn’t work. So may I offer a tip: trust ur clients talent, stop d tricks. All this while the female lead of super30 was finalized 8 months ago [sic].”
