‘SNL’ Parody of Katt Williams’ Viral Interview Draws Wild Reactions from Fans Online

This January started off with a bang and famous comedian Katt Williams was the catalyst.

The comedian was a guest on NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast and didn’t hold back. Williams spoke to several people in the industry, including Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer.

Saturday night live is known for making parodies of viral moments and this time was no different. The sketch by actors Ego Nwodim and Devon Walker provoked strong reactions from fans.

“Emmy nomination for [Ego Nwodim] like Katt Williams… hilarious,” comedian Lonnie Love wrote on Twitter.

“Ego Nwodim is perfect in this SNL sketch about the infamous Katt Williams interview. She is spot on,” another user wrote.

Katt Williams goes scorched earth with Steve Harvey

One of the most notable people Williams spoke to in the royal interview was famous comedian Steve Harvey. The comedian downplayed the success of the family dispute host. The comedian suggested that Harvey stole his entire act from fellow comedian Mark Curry.

“The same Steve who went to see Mark Curry do all his comedy and then stole everything Mark Curry had,” Williams said.

He also criticized Harvey for his lack of success as a movie star.

“You can’t be a movie star,” Williams added. “Every year 30,000 new scripts appear in Hollywood. None of them asked for a redneck black guy who can’t speak well and looks like Mr. Potato Head.”

Harvey apparently responds to Williams

After Williams found out about Harvey, everyone was waiting for his response. Harvey did not say Williams’ name. However, the timing of his January 7 Twitter posts suggests he was targeting the “Friday After Next” actor.

“I’ve got someone really targeting me right now, I mean, they’re really after me, man. “I’m just waiting to see what God is going to do because they are going to have to move on…no one can stop what God has for you,” Harvey wrote.

“No, you don’t have to tell anyone anything. All you have to do is be. You don’t have to open your mouth,” the comedian also used a biblical scripture, Psalm 23:5 to make his point clear. “’He prepares a table in the presence of my enemies,’ he does it all the time. All my enemies? I don’t have to tell you anything. They have a television. They can turn off the television seven days a week. All that hate? ‘Man, he’s there.’”
