Madison Brush, daughter of sister wives starring Janelle and Kody Brown, reflects on the passing of her brother Garrison.
On Instagram, she admitted to being “back to normal today as much as possible,” explaining that “the first week was horrible.”
He then paused to share insights drawn from the profound experience of losing his brother to suicide. “Mental health is very important and I don’t think we talk about it enough,” Brush insisted. “And I don’t think we do enough to raise awareness.”
“It wasn’t intimidation. It wasn’t a lack of love that Garrison had, it was mental health. And I’m going to keep talking about mental health and self-care until I’m blue in the face.”
He then warned his Instagram followers about how social media does not reflect reality.
“Garrison used to feel like he wasn’t doing enough because he compared himself to things on social media, and I don’t think that’s real and I think we need to remember that,” she recalled.

Madison shared that after the loss of Garrison, she and her siblings found comfort in coming together and strengthening their family bond.
“I have had a phenomenal community and so have my brothers. We all disagree. “We are all very stubborn people and we have disagreements on other things, but that way we can show up for each other and love each other even right now with our differences,” he reflected.
Following the news of Garrison’s death, Kody, Janelle and Meri issued a statement on social media. “Our family is deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy, Robert Garrison Brown. “He was a bright spot in the lives of everyone who knew him,” they wrote on Instagram.
“This loss will leave a void so big in our lives that it will take our breath away. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time and join us in honoring her memory. Garrison, you are loved and will be missed!

Kody has 12 more children with his current and former sister wife. Before Garrison’s death, he and his brother Gabe had a strained relationship with his father, Kody, after the COVID-19 pandemic.
