Meri became entangled in a six-month affair in March 2015 with someone allegedly named Sam Cooper, whom Meri believed was an international tycoon in his early 40s. The fact that he only ever showed half of his face on his social media accounts should have been the first red flag for Sister Wives‘ Meri. Viewers learned Meri was being courted by a woman who went by the name of Jackie Overton. Jackie had a history of online scamming and often used multiple accounts to lure in unsuspecting people. What Sister Wives viewers were not always privy to was the fact that once Jackie was outed, she leaked compromising photos of Meri, which included Meri kissing a banana and showing her leg in the bathtub, with the name “Sam” written on it.
