Sukhmanpreet Singh Sidhu was born on Thursday, 18 December 1980 (age 35 years at the time of death) in Patiala, Punjab. His zodiac sign was Sagittarius. Sippy Sidhu studied at Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, Doon International School, Mohali, Punjab, St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Bathinda, Punjab and The Punjab Public School Nabha, Punjab. Death – Murder of Sippy Sidhu

On September 20, 2015, Sippy Sidhu was shot dead in a park in Sector 27, Chandigarh. His alleged girlfriend Kalyani Singh is accused of being involved in the murder case. According to reports, investigation revealed that Kalyani Singh was accompanied by an unknown assailant at the time of Sippy’s murder. On 21 September 2015, a local resident saw his body in the park and informed the police. Kalyani Singh was arrested on June 15, 2022 for her involvement in the murder of Sippy Sidhu. His last rites were performed at the crematorium in Sector 25 West, Chandigarh. During the police investigation, Sippy’s mother accused a girl named Kalyani Singh of murdering her son. Sippy’s mother mentioned that the police were hesitant to interrogate Kalyani because she is the daughter of Acting Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh Sabina Singh and even misused her power to protect her daughter from a murder case. I cannot forget him even for a moment and will fight for justice as long as I am alive. The day he was murdered, Sippy had told me that Kalyani wanted to meet him. Since the murder, we have been saying that she is involved in the murder of my son because we had rejected her marriage proposal. He killed him.”

Sippy’s brother Jasman Preet accused Kalyani Singh and her family of creating false evidence. In an interview he said,

We will press for justice by impeaching Sabina, because her daughter is the prime suspect in a murder case, so how can justice be expected from her. We will meet the Union Law Minister and demand action against him for saving his daughter and creating false evidence. Kalyani’s family supported her plea that she was at a birthday party at the time of the murder, despite evidence that she was present in the park.”

  • According to the investigation report, Kalyani contacted Sippy Sidhu through the mobile phone of another person on September 18, 2015 and forced him to meet her at a park in Sector 27, Chandigarh.
  • On 22 January 2016, a CBI investigation into the Siddu Sippy murder case was recommended by the Chandigarh administration. Later this case was taken over by CBI. In September 2016, the CBI announced a monetary reward of Rs 5 lakh for providing any credible and relevant information in the murder case. In December 2016, the reward was increased to Rs 10 lakh.

  • On June 15, 2022, Kalyani Singh was arrested by the CBI from his house in Sector 42, Chandigarh in a murder case. According to the CBI report, Kalyani Singh was found to be misleading and deceptive in Sippy’s murder case. In an interview, CBI revealed Kalyani’s motive behind the murder and said,

    She wanted to marry him but Sippy’s family rejected her proposal. Sippy had leaked her objectionable pictures to her parents and friends, causing embarrassment to Kalyani and her family. Some lapses have been found on the part of the then SHO of Sector 26 police station, Inspector Poonam Dilawari and the then Gurikbal Singh Sidhu. ASP, in destroying the evidence.”
