Simranjeet Singh is an Indian field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for the Indian national team. He is best known for being a member of the Indian field hockey team that won the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Simranjeet Singh was born on Friday, 27 December 1996 (age 25 years; as in 2021) in Majhola, Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh. Their zodiac sign is Capricorn.
He did his early schooling in Majhola in Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh and the rest of his schooling in Punjab. He was interested in hockey since childhood. Seeing his passion for hockey, his elder uncle took him to his home in Batala, Punjab. He learned the basics of field hockey in Patiala. He was trained in field hockey at Surjit Hockey Academy, Jalandhar.

Simranjit then became a part of the Indian field hockey team that competed in the 2018 Asian Games – Men’s tournament held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Indian team reached the semi-finals but lost to Malaysia and won the bronze medal.
He participated as part of the Indian team in the matches at the 2018 Commonwealth Games held in Gold Coast (Australia) on 7, 8, 10 and 11 April 2018. The Indian team reached the semi-finals and lost to Belgium 2–5. India then faced Germany in the bronze medal match and won 4–5; Simranjit stepped forward and scored two goals (17th and 34th minutes). This was India’s first field hockey medal at the Olympics in almost 41 years since 1980.

Simranpreet began her journey as a professional field hockey player when she became a part of the Indian team at the 2014 Sultan of Johor Cup, in which India won the trophy by defeating Great Britain 2–1. He was then part of the Indian team that competed at the 2015 Breda Invitational U21 Match and the 2016 4 Nations Invitational (Valencia): Junior Men. He then played in the Indian team in two 2018 4 Nations Invitational Tournaments (M), one held in Hamilton and the other in Tauranga and India won both. Simranjit was part of the Indian team participating in the men’s Rabobank Hockey Champions Trophy 2018 held in Brenda. The Indian team had to face defeat while playing against Australia in the final.
Simranjeet then played in the 2018 Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy, which was held in Brenda, Netherlands from 23 June to 1 July 2018. The Indian team reached the final but lost to Australia 3–1 and won the silver medal. He has also played for Punjab & Sind Bank and Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB). He has a total of 52 caps for the Indian team. He is also a part of Rachi Rays, one of the Hockey India League (HIL) teams. In the 2017 HIL, he was adjudged Coal India Goal of the Match and awarded Rs. 50,000.
