Simran Kaur Mundi is an Indian actress and former supermodel. She was crowned Miss India Universe (2008) on 5 April 2008.

Simran Kaur Mundi was born on Thursday, 13 September 1990 (age 29 years; as in 2019) in Mumbai. Her zodiac sign is Virgo. Soon after Simran’s birth, her family moved to Madhya Pradesh. Her family has its roots in Mundian Jattan, Hoshiarpur, Punjab. Simran did her schooling from Madhya Pradesh’s Delhi Public School and Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya and went to Holkar College of Science Indore to pursue a degree in biotechnology.

After completing her graduation, Simran returned to Mumbai and started working there as a guest relations executive with the Fame Cinemas in Andheri. There, her job was to manage bookings for professionals from the film and media industry. While working at the Fame Cinemas, Simran got noticed by the iconic make-up artist and hairstylist duo, Bharat and Dorris Godambe, who encouraged her to participate in Femina Miss India Universe 2008 beauty pageant. Although Simran didn’t have any formal experience in modelling, she competed with the country’s best models and went on to win the title “Femina Miss India Universe 2008.”

Career
Simran Kaur Mundi started her career in 2011 by participating in the game reality show “Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout.” The show was anchored by Shah Rukh Khan. Next, she made her debut as an anchor by hosting the game series “Hockey India League.” She made her acting debut in 2011 with the Bollywood film “Jo Hum Chahein” in which she played the role of ‘Neha Kapoor.’ The film received a lukewarm response at the box office but Simran’s performance in the film was praised by the critics. In 2013, she made her Punjabi film debut with Gippy Grewal‘s film “Best of Luck.” In the same year, she made her Telugu film debut with the film “Potugadu” opposite Manoj Manchu, which was a huge hit.

Mundi later appeared in the Bollywood film “Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi,” which released on 30 May 2014. On the same day, her Punjabi film “Mundeyan Ton Bachke Rahin” also got released.
