Siddharth Bedi (1971–1997) was the son of Indian actor Kabir Bedi and Kabir’s first wife Protima Bedi. In the 1990s, he was diagnosed with schizophrenia (a mental disorder), and in 1997, due to his poor mental health, Siddhartha committed suicide.

At the age of twenty, he was diagnosed with a severe mental disorder called schizophrenia. After suffering from this disorder for some years, he committed suicide in 1997. Talking about Siddharth in an interview, his father Kabir Bedi said,
Siddhartha was a very brilliant young man… He was extraordinary in his abilities, and then suddenly, one day, he could not think. We first tried very hard to find out what was wrong, and for three years, we battled these unknown ghosts, and eventually he had a very violent rampage on the streets of Montreal, and it took eight policemen to capture him. And then, the doctors in Montreal finally diagnosed him as schizophrenic.”
In a blog, Pooja Bedi shared her memories with her brother. she wrote,
I miss my brother Siddharth a lot. We were inseparable as kids. Same school, same friends, same room. We traveled together, fought, laughed and loved each other madly. His diagnosis of schizophrenia and his suicide in 1997 changed my life forever. He was a sensitive, caring, gentle and funny person.. His death and then my mother’s death in 1998 is something I will never be able to fill.
