During his college days, Shubham Shinde started playing Kabaddi at the national level for Maharashtra State Kabaddi Association. He became the captain of Maharashtra State Kabaddi Association team for the national level Kabaddi championship in 2021.

Shubham then won a silver medal at the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) and was awarded the Best Defender of the Tournament title during the Late Shankarrao ‘Buva’ Salvi Cup 2022 Men’s Kabaddi Championship held in Maharashtra in July 2022.

Pro Kabaddi League (PKL)
Kabaddi Arjuna Award winner Ashok Shinde once saw Shubham’s abilities in a tournament organized by Puneri Paltan in Chiplun. Ashok recommended Shubham to join Puneri Paltan team for the sixth season of PKL in 2019. Based on his performance in the trials, Shubham was selected as the new young player.

In 2021, Shubham Shinde started playing with PKL team Patna Pirates and earned the nickname ‘Ankle Hold King of Kabaddi’. In February 2022, he won the title of ‘Moment of the Match’ and ‘Tata Ace Defender of the Match’.
