Shoresy Cast Guide: Where You Know The Actors From

The cast of Letterkenny spinoff Shoresy is sprinkled with some familiar characters–and here’s where audiences might know their actors from. The Canadian comedy follows the titular character, Shoresy, as he joins a hapless AAA hockey team, the struggling Sudbury Bulldogs, who are based in Northern Ontario. Determined to turn their luck around, Shoresy sets himself on a mission to never lose again.

Shoresy has received quite a bit of praise from critics, with many citing its salty humor and sometimes biting satire. It’s also received a number of accolades for its authentic and strong portrayals of women and First Nations people in great roles. While clearly sharing the same irreverent spirit as its predecessor, Shoresy is faster-paced and has a far more cohesive plot than the mostly meandering Letterkenny.

Unsurprisingly, Shoresy‘s success can be attributed to the talent behind it, both behind and in front of the camera. While most of them may not be household names in America, quite a few American audiences may recognize them. Here are the cast and characters of Letterkenny spinoff Shoresy explained.

Jared Keeso as “Shoresy” Shore

Jared Keeso stars as the titular character Shoresy, a constantly chirping, trash-talking, foul-mouthed AAA hockey player. Letterkenny audiences may recognize his face–Keeso also plays Wayne, the protagonist of Letterkenny (which is why Shoresy’s face was never shown in that show). Being the creator of both shows keeps Keeso busy, but audiences may recognize him from his roles in the movies Elysium (Rico) and 2014’s Godzilla (Jump Master), or TV shows Falling Skies (Lars) and Smallville (Nate Pratt).

Teles is best known for her role as Echo on The 100, and has guest-starred in a number of other TV shows including iZombie, Supernatural, Prison Break, and Travelers. Most recently, she appeared in the fourth season of Legacies as Lynn, formerly known as the Ferryman.

Harlan Blayne Kytwayhat as Sanguinet

Harlan Blayne Kytwayhat as Sanguinet in Shoresy

Harlan Blayne Kytwayhat stars as Sanguinet, Shoresy’s soft-spoken best friend and hockey player turned reluctant head coach of the Bulldogs. Kytwayhat is a newcomer to the field of acting, having only previously been in one episode of TV show Tribal before landing his role on Shoresy. Kytwayhat will soon be a familiar face to a much wider audience, however, as he’s soon to be seen in the role of Itsee in the Predator prequel movie Prey.

Keilani Rose as Miigwan & Blair Lamora as Ziigwan

Keilani Rose stars as Miigwan and Blair Lamora stars as Ziigwan in Shoresy. Miigwan and Ziigwan are Nat’s sidekicks and assistants, and they suffer no fools. Keilani Rose’s career has started picking up steam. Audiences may recognize her from her role in the TV show Flimsy as Cadence, or from her role as Katie Hamilton in horror movie The Sinners. Meanwhile, Lamora is almost brand-new to acting, with her biggest role before this being a guest appearance as Walela in an episode of Outlander season 6.

Ryan McDonell as Michaels

Ryan McDonell as Michaels in Shoresy

Ryan McDonell plays Michaels, who is the coach of the Sudbury Bulldogs at the beginning of Shoresy. The team, however, hates him, so Shoresy takes it upon himself to lead a mutiny against Michaels. McDonell has had a steady career in genre TV, with his most famous role being that of Lt. Eammon ‘Gonzo’ Pike in Battlestar Galactica. Audiences may also recognize him as Stuart Campbell in Smallville. Otherwise, he’s been a regular on a number of CW shows, appearing as a guest star on iZombie, Supernatural, The Flash, Arrow, and others.
