According to an Athletics Canada document dated November 5, 2015, George was no longer a member in good standing. When contacted by CBC Sports for comment, Shawn said, “Athletics Canada did what it felt it had to do.”
“My father never had an official role with Athletics Canada, so it’s not really a problem. My father has always supported me and I am sure that he will continue to be my biggest fan and support in everything I decide to do.”
