Sharwanand debuted in the Telugu film industry, also known as Tollywood, with the film ‘Aidho Tareekhu’ (also spelt as ‘Aidho Thareku’) in 2004.
In the same year, he appeared as ‘Vijay’ in a comedy-drama film titled ‘Shankar Dada M.B.B.S.,’ which was a remake of the Hindi-language film ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’ (2003). In 2008, he played the role of ‘Abhiram/Abhi’ in the road film ‘Gamyam.’ Sharwanand appeared in many other films such as Nandu in ‘Andari Bandhuvaya’ (2010), Raja Harishchandra Prasad in ‘Run Raja Run’ (2014), Karthik in ‘Sreekaram’ (2021), and Chiranjeevi “Chiru” in ‘Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu’ (2022).

The initiative focused to foster comprehensive development and create robust infrastructure in schools throughout the state; this was to be achieved by establishing digital classrooms and building extra ones; however, soon after his tweet, Sharwanand faced criticism from an opposing party’s supporters. They accused him of overlooking Telangana’s previous advancements. Some responses to his tweet were quite hostile. A National Party representative tweeted,
