As she continues her fight against stage 4 breast cancer, Shannen Doherty shares a positive update on her journey.
During a recent episode of her Let’s be clear On the podcast, Doherty talked about the “miraculous” treatment he recently started. “I’m taking a new infusion against cancer,” he said. Beverly Hills 90210 said the star. “And after four treatments, we didn’t really see a difference, and everyone wanted it to change, and I thought we’d just stick with it and see.”
However, things started to change after the sixth or seventh treatment. “We really saw it break down the blood-brain barrier,” Shannen Doherty said. “I call that a miracle? To me, that’s a miracle right now, that I kind of rolled the dice and said, let’s move on.”
Although he did not reveal what infusion treatment he is currently undergoing, Doherty said his success was that “God stepped in and said He was going to give him a break.”
Shannen Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. After two years of treatment, she went into remission. However, in 2020, the actress said that the cancer returned and moved to stage 4. Since then, the cancer has spread to her brain and bones.
“Every day is a gift and there are so many new things in the works that I think hope is always there,” Doherty said. “The only thing I can do is live each day as positively as possible and with a lot of hope.”

In November 2023, Shannen Doherty opened up to PEOPLE about his fight against cancer and how he continues to fight.
“I don’t want to die,” he explained, noting that he is not done living or loving yet. “I haven’t finished creating. “I’m not done hoping to change things for the better.”
Speaking about her diagnosis, Shannen Doherty said she will continue to work as much as possible. “People just assume it means she can’t walk,” she said of the diagnosis. “You can’t eat, you can’t work. They put you out to pasture at a very young age: ‘You’re done, you’re retired,’ and we’re not.”
Although her treatments exhaust her, Doherty said she continues to push herself. “My greatest memory is yet to come,” she also explained. “I pray. I wake up and go to bed thanking God, praying for the things that matter to me without asking for too much. It connects me with a higher, spiritual power. My faith is my mantra.”
Then he added that everything becomes clear when you have cancer. “I know it sounds cheesy and crazy, but you’re more aware of everything and you feel so blessed.”
