Shani Warren Wikipedia, Donald Robertson Murder, Documentary, Brother, Family – It was a mystery that had not been solved and had been a cold case for more than three decades. Shani Warren, a secretary, was found dead in a lake, floating face down. A red jump lead from her automobile was used to bind her hands behind her back, and a yellow rope was used to bind her ankles. Her lips was covered with a scarf, and a ligature was around her neck. Having drowned, she.

Detectives from Thames Valley Police were certain they were looking for a killer in the case that became known as the “lady in the lake case.” But was it a homicide?
What what happened to Shani has now been revealed in a brand-new television documentary. Easter of 1987. On Good Friday evening, the 26-year-old had vanished. She had drove to her parents’ home in Buckinghamshire’s Gerrard Cross earlier that day to borrow an extension cord so she could mow the lawn at her home in Stoke Poges, which was close by.
At around 6 o’clock, she was spotted piling lawn clippings into her black Vauxhall Cavalier before leaving. However, her car was found in a layby off the A4 at Taplow, about six miles away. It had been abandoned because the gearbox had become problematic.
It was only a short stroll to the lake where her body was discovered. But could she have committed suicide? Dr. Benjamin Davis, a pathologist at the Home Office, was certain. There was a suicide here.
He claimed Shani had not been sexually assaulted and her body had not displayed any evidence of a struggle. He added that he was aware of three such incidents in the six months prior in which women had tied themselves up and perished in bathtubs.
Geoffrey Budworth, a knots specialist who has assisted police in prior investigations, gave a demonstration of how Shani could have tied herself up during the inquest. Even so, he acknowledged that it would have been “a bit of a business.” Dr. Davis, though, didn’t waver in his conviction.
I was the Slough Observer’s chief reporter at the time. Like Shani’s family and friends, I reported on this case and thought this theory was erroneous.
I had the impression that Dr. Davis was a very arrogant and pretentious man who delighted in the media attention while displaying no compassion for the victim’s family.
He claimed Shani’s tie-up was quite amateurish. With my ‘amateur’ knot-tying abilities, I tried to do it myself but failed. My coworkers tried the same thing, but to no avail. She would have had to bind her ankles first, then the ligature, then her hands in order to effectively do this manoeuvre.
But was it possible for Shani to pull this off with her hands in her pockets? According to one explanation, she might have tied the knots in front of her before swivelling her arms over her shoes to tie them in back of her. That is difficult for the majority of people to accomplish.
The fact that the knots were tight was also demonstrated. If so, she would have had to tighten them with her teeth, but the scarf was covering her mouth.
When it was suggested that Shani committed suicide, her devastated parents demanded that the inquest be shown a video of her body being pulled from the Taplow Lake, which showed how she had been bound and gagged.
Their attorney presented testimony from Shani’s physician and a psychologist who had combed through her notebooks in search of any hints that she might have had mental health issues. According to both, there is no evidence to imply Shani is suicidal.
To be fair to the investigators, they never lost sight of the fact that they were looking into a murder. On the basis of the information at hand, South Buckinghamshire coroner John Roberts rendered an open verdict.
He stated that he was “not satisfied beyond all reasonable doubt” that there was enough evidence to support either the suicide or the unlawful killing judgements.
