Although she was a baby when Kurt Cobain died, Selena Gomez revealed that she was obsessed with the Nirvana frontman growing up.
During his appearance in Jimmy Kimmel live! Gomez claimed Cobain was her musical idol and said her obsession with him ran deep.
“I think my mom obviously played all kinds of music for me growing up,” he explained. “I became obsessed and dyed my hair and cut my hair like him.”
Selena Gomez also said she knew “too much” about Cobain. “Yes, she watched his interviews again, she watched his performances, she had watched his documentary like 12 times.”
According PEOPLE, Gomez had not previously spoken about her obsession with Cobain. However, she made fun of it over the years. In 2017, she dyed her hair blonde and opted for a “90s-inspired” bleached look. Her colorist at the time dubbed the color “Nirvana Blonde.”
Also in 2017, Gómez shared a series of photos with “all apologies” in the caption. She apparently referenced Nirvana’s song of the same name.

In addition to talking about Kurt Cobain, Selena Gomez told Jimmy Kimmel about the new version of her hit Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place.
Disney Channel recently announced that a revival of the show is underway, with David Henrie reprising his role as Justin Russo and Gomez returning as Alex.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun and I was excited to bring the characters back,” said Selena Gomez. “It’s not a reboot, it will be a different version.”
The original series ran from 2007 to 2012. It followed the adventures of the Russo brothers as they navigated life as young magicians in New York City.
Gomez also recently spoke with her former co-stars Jennifer Stone and David DeLuise about her time on set. She said that she had to hide her love for the television show. Friends because “he provoked certain people.”
“I asked you how you had such impeccable timing. You guys were so smart and funny so young,” DeLuise said. “And you said, ‘Don’t tell anyone, but I’ve seen every episode of Friends.’ I guess they didn’t let you watch Friends or something?
