Controversy
Saud al-Qahtani has been a controversial figure due to his alleged involvement in various incidents. One of the most significant controversies surrounding Al-Qahtani was his alleged role in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018.
According to online reports, he was one of the key figures who directed the team responsible for Khashoggi’s killing. As a result, he was sanctioned by the United States and other countries.
However, he has denied any involvement in Khashoggi’s murder and has not been charged with any crimes related to the incident. Due to this reason, he was removed from his position as an advisor to the Crown Prince in the aftermath of the controversy.
