Sara Holmes Passed Away At The Age Of 31

Sara Holmes, also known as HojuSara, an Australian YouTuber, died on September 1, 2022 at the age of 31 after a 6 month battle with leukemia. Since news of the Korean food enthusiast’s death became public, social media has been flooded with tributes. Her fiance, Hyun, announced her death on September 5, writing in a memorial message:

“Since goodbyes are painful, say Bbyong instead.” Bbyong!’”

“Bbyong” is a Korean slang word meaning “appear” or “disappear” and is often used informally to express “dieu”.

Hyun also shared a 40-minute video on Holmes’ YouTube account, which included a voice message from the hospital. The video includes an audio message Holmes recorded from the hospital shortly before her death, in which she says:

“If you’re reading this, I admire you all. If you’re reading this, I’m watching you from heaven. I want to see it over. I’ll keep an eye on everything… whenever you see something beautiful, it’s me.

The YouTuber continued:

This is not the end of the story. I’m still struggling. I’m having a hard time… I want to spend more quality time with all of you. I was going to write you all a note, but this came faster than I expected. I’ve made a lot of great friends. I think I’ve used up all my luck. I don’t regret anything. I wish I could spend more time with you, but I’ll keep an eye on you.

In August, doctors informed Hyun that she had only a week to live. She survived for 10 days before suddenly passing away in September.

When HojuSara died, tributes poured in.

The sudden death of the YouTuber shocked the online community. Holmes has more than 341k subscribers on the video-sharing site and 50.8k followers on Instagram. Condolences to her family and friends flooded her social media.
