Dr. Sanghamitra Maurya is an Indian politician and doctor. During the 2019 Indian general election, Sanghamitra was elected as a member of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India, from Badaun in Uttar Pradesh as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Sanghamitra Maurya was born on Thursday, 3 January 1985 (age 37 years; as in 2022) in Allahabad city of Uttar Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Capricorn. His hometown is Lucknow. Sanghamitra first met Naval Kishore Shakya during his college days. Reportedly, Maurya and Kishore studied MBBS from ERA’s Lucknow Medical College and Hospital at the same time. They first became friends and then fell in love with each other. After dating each other for a few years, both of them got married in 2010. Her husband Naval Kishore Shakya is a cancer surgeon and politician. As of 2022, he is a member of the Samajwadi Party. The couple has a son named Samrajya. On 21 December 2017, Sanghamitra filed for divorce from her husband due to irreconcilable differences and was granted a divorce on 19 January 2021.

After completing MBBS, Sanghamitra Maurya started working as a medical officer in the district hospital of Pratapgarh. He worked there for some time and then left his medical career to pursue a political career.

Sanghamitra started his political career in 2010 by contesting the District Panchayat elections from Etah, Uttar Pradesh. Subsequently, she joined the Bahujan Samaj Party and contested elections from Kasganj in 2012. However, she failed miserably to make an impact. In 2014, she contested the Mainpuri constituency (as a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party), but lost to Mulayam Singh Yadav. In 2016, Maurya resigned from the Bahujan Samaj Party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Within a year of joining BJP, Sanghamitra was asked to contest elections from Padrauna seat. However, he refused to do so. He managed BJP’s Parivartan Yatra in five districts.
Maurya also played a role in BJP’s women’s cell. In 2019, Sanghamitra contested the Indian general election from Badaun constituency, on a BJP ticket, and defeated senior Samajwadi Party leader Dharmendra Yadav (nephew of Mulayam Singh Yadav). She is a member of the 17th Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India. In July 2019, she became a member of the Other Backward Classes Welfare Committee. In September 2019, he was elected as a member of the Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare and the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Panchayati Raj.

- In 2013, a case was registered against Sanghamitra at Kotwali Mainpuri police station on charges of promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of religion, caste, place of birth, residence, language etc. and doing acts prejudicial to maintaining harmony .
- A complaint was also lodged against him at Gunnaur police station in Badaun district regarding illegal payment in connection with an election.
- Sanghamitra had raised questions on Aparna Yadav (daughter-in-law of Mulayam Singh Yadav) joining the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2022. He made a post on his Facebook account in which he called Yogi Adityanath as his (Aparna Yadav) cousin.
