Sana Talikoti is the daughter of the Indian counterfeiter Abdul Karim Telgi, who was convicted in the 2003 stamp paper scam. Sana hit the headlines in December 2022 when she filed a lawsuit against director Hansal Mehta for making a series on the 2003 scam involving her family, especially her father.

  • In December 2022, Sana filed a lawsuit against director Hansal Mehta for making a series about the 2003 scam involving her family. In an interview, she claimed that the series was based on a book with factual inaccuracies, which violated her family’s right to privacy, dignity, and self-respect; however, the production company later argued that information about the family and the scam was already in the public domain as a result of which the right to privacy no longer applied. The Mumbai court, on the other hand, rejected Sana’s request to stop the release of the web series in the same year.
