Early life
Sam Martin was born on February 27, 1990 in Fayetteville, Georgia, United States. He is 33 years old and is under the astrological sign of Pisces. He has American nationality and his full name is Sam Joseph Martin.

Sam Martin was a first-team Associated Press All-American. He was even named First Team All-American by College Sports Journal and Third Team All-American by The Sports Network. He also became the NCAA Division I FCS Punter of the Year by the College Football Performance Awards.
He was also named first-team All-Southern Conference as a punter and second-team All-SoCon as a placekicker by league coaches by league coaches and media. He was also a three-time SoCon Player of the Week. Likewise, he was able to earn second-team All-Southern Conference accolades despite battling a nagging groin injury throughout the 2011 campaign.
Martin began the new season as the team’s punter and kicker. He was able to be named national and conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against SSU.
In 2010, he played in all 13 games, kicked 60 of ASU’s 61 punts on the season and ranked fourth in the Southern Conference with a 39.2-yard average. He was able to earn SoCon-wide academic recognition for his achievements on the field and in the classroom.
Additionally, Sam was able to receive an award as NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. He punted four times for a total of 181 yards and only three punt return yards in Week 12 of the 2015 season. He then signed a four-year contract extension with the Lions in September 2016.
He signed a three-year, $7.05 million contract with the Denver Broncos in the year 2020 and left in 2022. Furthermore, in August 2022, he signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills and signed a three-year contract . Contract extension for $7.5 million in March 2023.
