This was my first big performance abroad. I grew as a person there. It was the best education I ever had… There is a huge difference in tennis coaching facilities and infrastructure in the US. The commitment to tennis grew a lot there…I have a double major in finance and economics. I’m glad I went for it. I also got a scholarship to improve my game while pursuing my education. I specialized in investment banking and insurance. I think I could use it for years. It will have to be used somewhere. Since I got exposed to the world, it helped me as a person and when I later got into marketing or anything else, it would help me a lot.
Sackett won many matches and competitions during his time at the University of Alabama. Saketh Myneni joined the Indian Davis Cup team for the first time during the 2014 Davis Cup. It has become really difficult for me to manage, especially finances, because I could not get sponsors. I started by investing the money I earned as a coach before turning pro. We pay from our own pocket for travel, accommodation, nutrition, coaching and training. Despite the 2014 Asian Games medals, there has been no funding or help from governments or national sports federations. The government is ready to give land to Saket Myneni to start a tennis academy in the state. Saketh Myneni is an inspiration for others in the sports world. Tennis is an expensive sport and she had to face many hurdles to win the Asian silver medal in her 12-year journey in tennis.
In an interview after winning the silver medal in the 19th Asian Games, Saket said,
It is really a great feeling to win my third medal at the Asiad. It just reminds you that you still have so much to give. I am very grateful to my wife for this medal. The Asiad silver medal is a great morale booster as I chase the dream of representing India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. I am conscious of the challenges ahead, the biggest challenge is to continue to perform well on the ATP circuit to continue improving my ranking. This is definitely never going to be easy. ,
