Sahana Bajracharya, also known as Sahana Vajracharya, is a Nepalese model, VJ, producer and TV presenter. She became the first runner-up in the Miss Nepal 2010 beauty pageant and represented Nepal at Miss Earth 2010 held in Vietnam. Sahana was the first woman to appear on the cover page of TNM (The Nepali Man) magazine, the first full-fledged men’s magazine in Nepal.

Sahana Bajracharya was born on Tuesday, 15 August 1989 (age 33 years; as of 2022) in Kathmandu, Bagmati Pradesh, Nepal. He did his schooling from St. Mary’s School, Jwalakhel, Lalitpur. After completing her schooling, she went on to study Media Studies at Kathmandu University, Nepal (KU), but dropped out after the first semester as she could not manage her studies along with modeling. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Media from Wigan and Leigh College.

She started her career in modeling by participating in Miss Nepal 2008, but it was canceled after protests by female Maoists against the competition. Social Worker
Sahan is also a social worker, and she explores rural areas of Nepal to hear the stories of and help the people living in these areas. In western Nepal there is a type of menstrual taboo known as ‘Chaupadi’, in which girls are not allowed to participate in any normal household work during menstruation as they are considered impure. Women are banned from entering the house and are forced to live in cattle sheds or small huts called menstrual huts. Sahana has contributed to the fight against the Chowpadi cult to save women from living in harsh and dangerous conditions, which are very unhygienic and unsafe and sometimes lead to death. He was praised for this act of bravery and kindness.

Making out in the car!
On 28 July 2014, Kantipur Television Network’s VJ couple Sahana and Suraj Giri were found getting intimate in Suraj’s car in Chitwan, Nepal. This incident happened around 3 am in the morning when the police saw a car moving on its own. After peeking inside the car they found Sahana and Suraj almost naked. Sahana posted the official press statement on social media and wrote,
This is the official press statement of me and my friend Suraj Giri. I am upset and deeply hurt by the baseless reports that went viral yesterday! Most of the media publicized it excessively without even following the basics of media ethics. If the police caught us, can’t anyone ask the police what happened?”
In his defence, Sahana said that he was returning from Chitwan after some business work. The police caught him when he was changing the tires of his car. Suraj was slightly intoxicated, so the police fined him 1,000 Nepalese rupees for driving under the influence and he was later released. After this incident both of them had to leave Kantipur TV. Regarding his resignation from Kantipur TV, he said,
I announce that my self-resignation has been withdrawn and I look forward to being back on Kantipur TV soon!”
Had to face criticism on Facebook
In Euro Cup 2016, when the final match was going on between Portugal and France, Cristiano Ronaldo got injured and had to leave the field. Sahana posted on Facebook,
Ronaldo should consider acting as a career change! #MonchaDrama”
After reading his post, Cristiano’s fans started cursing and abusing him. Later, she removed the hashtag and added two new hashtags, which read:
Ronaldo should consider acting as a career change! #NoOffenseFans #CalmDown”
This strategy of Sahana did not work but netizens started trolling her on social media.

- In an interview, when he was asked which three things/people contributed to his success in media. He replied,
Captains don’t win matches, teams do. I am extremely grateful to my family for supporting my choice. My maternal grandfather raised me and made me the person I am today.
