Controversy

Sagarika Ghosh interviewed Hindu spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on her show “Joining Us Tonight” on 9 November 2011, on the topic “Should spiritual leaders participate in anti-corruption campaigns?” They questioned him on various issues during the show and he in turn criticized and refuted his responses. The show “CNN-IBN Live” was broadcast on video feed when Ravi Shankar was on screen. He was also interviewed a day before the actual interview and his statements were edited and broadcast as answers to Ghosh’s live questions. Later, this was criticized and Ghosh met with CNN-IBN to issue a formal apology, saying it was due to “technical issues”.
