SAG-AFTRA says certain Halloween costumes are off limits for striking actors!

SAG-AFTRA has rules about Halloween!

The union prohibits actors who are on strike in Hollywood from dressing up as popular characters in certain affected content and publishing the images on social networks.

As a result, some of the most popular costumes of the year are off the table, such as Barbie and Ken from the Barbie movie, as well as Wednesday Addams from Wednesday.

The guild told its members on Thursday (Oct. 18) to “choose costumes inspired by widespread characters and figures: ghosts, zombies, spiders, etc.”

Members can dress up as characters from non-hit content, such as an animated television show.

Marvel superheroes are also not allowed because they are property of Disney.

“Let’s use our collective power to send a loud and clear message to our striking employers that we will not promote their content without a fair contract,” the union added, via THR.

The SAG-AFTRA strike is approaching its 100th day and negotiations recently broke down again.
