Facts/General Knowledge
- He once said in an interview,
“Playing overseas has changed my mindset. Different challenging wickets to bat on, facing long, fast and lanky bowlers, heavy outfields in which your shots have no value. I did not get all this while playing in India. I still have a lot to learn and experience.”
Furthermore, he says,
“My father always says, ‘Be persistent and prove yourself again and again’… I’m willing to wait… If it’s my destiny, it will happen.”
- He was once asked about being the son of a great cricketer, to which he replied,
“Being the son of a great cricketer. It has advantages and disadvantages. I faced more comparisons than pressure. People wanted me to keep wickets like my father which was not humanly possible, they failed to understand this. I always liked pressure; It will bring out the best in me. The adrenaline rush is what I want and in pressure situations I get it. I get a lot of respect outside cricket, just because I am the son of a celebrity, which is tremendous.”
