Saba Azad is an actress who plays a variety of characters in real life as well. Apart from being a Bollywood actress, she is also a theater director and musician. Starting her career at the age of 18 with her debut film “Dil Kabaddi” (2008), she has come a long way in the industry from playing various roles to singing for several Bollywood films.

Saba Azad was born as Saba Singh Grewal on 1 November 1990 (age 31 years; as in 2021) in Delhi, India. She was interested in dance and acting since her childhood and after her schooling, she started her journey as a theater artist to pursue a career in acting. She is the niece of legendary street theater artist and director Safdar Hashmi. Influenced by theater since childhood, she grew up learning theater and even performed with Safdar Hashmi’s theater group, Jana Natya Manch. She is professionally trained in many dance forms like Odissi, Classical Ballet, Jazz, Latin and others. He traveled with his Odissi guru Kiran Sehgal to perform not only in India, but also in Canada, Nepal and England. Over the years, Sabah has done several TV commercials for Cadbury, Maggi, Tata Sky, Google, Vodafone, Nescafe and other brands. His journey towards cinema began when he got the lead role in the short film “Gurur” directed by Ishaan Nair.

After completing her schooling, Saba started her acting career as a theater artist from where she got a lead role in a short film “Gurroor” which was directed by Ishaan Nair.   • On 26 March 2017, Saba uploaded a picture on his Instagram in which he revealed that his original name was Saba Singh Grewal, but he changed his name to Saba Azad. She did this to feel free from all the tags that are given to people by people. People trolled him a lot on social media for changing his name.
  • Saba Azad performs during an anti-CAA protest at Shaheen Bagh, New Delhi in January 2020. He sang the song “Tu Zinda Hai” by the India People’s Theater Association. He also read a poem by Faiz Ahmed Faiz, “Bol Ke Lab Azad Hain Tere”. Later, a social media post went viral claiming that the protest was organized to celebrate the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from Jammu and Kashmir and criticized Saba Azad for participating in the protest.
