Ryan Gosling knows that Ken gives credit where it is due, and he’s doing the same when it comes to his style in Barbie.
That means that the actor is shouting out BTS member Jimin, who wore one of Ken’s looks in a music video two years before the movie’s premiere.
He took to social media to shout out the hitmaker and to offer him a gift in return for borrowing the distinctive outfit. Ryan even revealed who he thought wore it better!
Head inside to see which of Jimin’s looks Ryan Gosling replicated in Barbie…
The look in question is a Western shirt with white fringe and floral detailing. Ryan styled it with a white cowboy hat and bright pink bandana while wearing it next to Margot Robbie‘s Barbie. Meanwhile, Jimin wore the shirt in BTS‘ “Permission to Dance” music video.
“Hi, Jimin. It’s Ryan Gosling here. I noticed that your ‘Permission to Dance’ outfit was the same as my Ken outfit in the upcoming movie Barbie,” Ryan acknowledged in a video shared on Twitter.
He continued, saying, “I have to give it to you — you wore it first. You definitely wore it best, and there’s an unspoken Ken code that if you bite another Ken’s style, you have to give them your most prized possession.”
What did Ryan have to offer? Ken’s glossy guitar. “Ken doesn’t really play anyway, so, it’ll be much better in your hands,” he added.
No word yet if Jimin accepted the offering, but we’ll keep you updated if we learn more.
