In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel live! Gosling, now 43, recalled his collaboration with the late Burt on the 1996 film. frankenstein and me.

Ryan Gosling also said that Burt Reynolds tried to give him relationship advice.
“He said, ‘Let me tell you something, kid. Don’t spend your whole life stepping on diamonds to live with a cubic zirconia,’” Gosling remembers Reynold saying.

“I thought, ‘I’m 13 years old. I don’t know what those things are.’ I don’t know what any of that is. Stop looking at my mom. I’m here,” she joked.
