Russell Brand wonders if mainstream media is ‘silenced’ him amid rape, assault allegations

Russell Brand is speaking.

The 48-year-old comedian returned to the conservative video platform Rumble following multiple assault allegations, which were revealed in an explosive Instagram story. Channel 4, sunday time and The times.

During his Stay Free In the series’ return, Russell questioned whether he was being “silenced” by the “mainstream media” as he denied all allegations.

On his Rumble show, Russell also said it was “hard for me to be objective” about the mainstream media “given the events of the last week,” but thanked his followers for questioning the information they had received.

The show aired shortly after the Metropolitan Police announced an investigation into allegations of sexual crimes in London and other parts of the UK, via Deadline.

YouTube also demonetized Russell’s channel amid the allegations.

“We continue to encourage anyone who believes they may have been a victim of a sexual crime, no matter how long ago, to contact us,” police said.

He did not address the allegations directly in his Rumble broadcast, but called out the Trusted News Initiative, a partnership between the BBC and major publications including Washington Postto fight misinformation.

“It appears that seemingly independent or at least separate news organizations are collaborating – and I hesitate to use this word – conspiring to control global news narratives on some of the world’s biggest stories,” he said.

The broadcast was watched by up to 86,000 people at one point, as he interviewed comedian Jimmy Dore and thanked him for being a guest on the show.

“It really lifts my spirits at a time when I clearly needed it and I can’t express how grateful I am to you,” he said.

Elon Musk expressed his disappointment in Russell, but not because of the accusations.
