- Roshni Nadar is a trained classical musician.
- She is the only child of Shiv Nadar and Kiran Nadar.
- Roshni became the CEO of HCL Tech at the young age of 28. When asked how it felt to become the CEO of an established software company and heir to her father’s huge fortune at just 28, Roshni said,
This came at a good time because, although I was young, it gave me the opportunity to have several years of overlap with my father, who has been important for me to understand and learn how to manage my family’s assets. At that time, my father also needed an extra hand to help, guide the direction the corporation was taking, so this fit well. However, I was also a little overwhelmed, because soon after I became CEO, there was a sudden huge cash inflow from HCL Corporation to finance several new initiatives of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, which were started at the same time. So, there was this huge interdependence between the corporation and the foundation. It took a few months to adjust but the show must go on and I managed just fine.”
