A statement from the Whittaker family and Sony Music posted on Roger’s official website announced the news of the singer’s death, saying he died “peacefully in the presence of his family.”

“Roger was an iconic artist, a wonderful husband and father. “He touched many hearts with his music during his lifetime and he will always live on in our memories,” the joint statement continued. “Roger will be greatly missed, his legacy will live forever in our hearts and in his art.”
