The final song, written and performed by late Bee Gees member Robin Gibb, will be released in September.
The last song on the new album to be put together by the musician’s wife and son will be Sydney, which he produced before his death in May 2012.
The album’s title will be 50 St Catherine’s Drive, after Gibb’s birthplace on the Isle of Man. His widow, Dwina, said she was moved to tears after hearing his last work. She continued: “He cried when he wrote it.” This verse is sincere, melancholy, lovely, and incomplete.
Ms. Gibb said her husband stayed up late in their bedroom using a keyboard and some iPad software to write songs. He and his brother Barry had planned to produce the entire song in the studio, but his ill health made it impossible.
