Robin Gibbs News

The final song, written and performed by late Bee Gees member Robin Gibb, will be released in September.

The last song on the new album to be put together by the musician’s wife and son will be Sydney, which he produced before his death in May 2012.

The album’s title will be 50 St Catherine’s Drive, after Gibb’s birthplace on the Isle of Man. His widow, Dwina, said she was moved to tears after hearing his last work. She continued: “He cried when he wrote it.” This verse is sincere, melancholy, lovely, and incomplete.

Ms. Gibb said her husband stayed up late in their bedroom using a keyboard and some iPad software to write songs. He and his brother Barry had planned to produce the entire song in the studio, but his ill health made it impossible.

When he closed his eyes, the three young brothers returned to Sydney, Australia, happily together, with their own ambitions and future plans. He is grieving the passing of his twin brother Maurice, but his spirit is still there. Of course, the world was influenced by their later works, according to Ms. Gibb.

The CD includes 17 songs, including commentary for each song, compiled by her and is expected to be released on September 29.

Most of the autobiographical songs were written between 2006 and 2008, but were never released. Gibb suffered from numerous health problems before his death at the age of 62.

After experiencing stomach problems in April 2011, he postponed several shows in Brazil. After having bowel surgery for an unrelated problem later that year, he was found to have colon cancer. He was later diagnosed with liver cancer, had to undergo chemotherapy and undergo surgery.
