Robert De Niro cries about raising his ‘wonderful’ daughter Gia, 9 months

Less than a year after welcoming his seventh child, Gia, Robert De Niro opens up about raising the adorable and wonderful little girl.

While speaking for the February/March 2024 issue of AARP The Magazine, De Niro opened up about raising Gia with his girlfriend, Tiffany Chen. “She feels great,” he said. Everything that consumes me or worries me simply disappears when I look at her. It is wonderful”.

Also speaking of the little girl’s cuteness, De Niro said: “When she grows up, who knows? But that sweet way he has of looking at you, assimilating you, thinking, looking and observing.”

Robert De Niro and Tiffany Chen welcomed Gia on April 6, 2023. However, the acting icon didn’t announce the birth of her baby until just over a month later. While talking about his six other children, De Niro corrected the Canadian Eastern Time reporter and said: “Seven, actually. “I just had a baby.”

The 80-year-old actor’s other children are Drena, Raphael, Julian, Aaron, Elliot and Helen Grace. His ages range from 12 to 52 years old.

Robert De Niro says being a father is never easier at any age

Weeks after welcoming Gia, Robert De Niro spoke with Extra about welcoming another child in his old age. “I’m okay with that,” De Niro explained. “I’m good at it.”

De Niro later said that raising children never gets easier, no matter how old you are. Chen also spoke with CBS News about the worrying situation that happened to her during pregnancy.

“It was like everything was starting to collapse on itself,” he explained. “Like my face was melting into itself. And then a week after giving birth, that’s when it all happened.”

Robert De Niro’s partner said he was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, which causes severe muscle weakness or facial paralysis. Fortunately, the actor was very understanding and sweet during the situation.

“He tried to say he didn’t see any difference,” she continued, noting that he claimed he didn’t see any change. “He told me: ‘No… You look good.’”

While being treated for this condition, Chen said she couldn’t smile at the baby. “I couldn’t kiss him. That’s what made me feel self-conscious. What I did worry about was ‘What would happen if I didn’t get better?’ Would my son be made fun of for having a strange looking mother? That’s the only time vanity comes into play. “That’s how it affects the child.”

Despite the situation, Chen said Gia was able to make things better. “She did [life] More fun.”
