During his high school years, Nash began his hockey career as a junior in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL). In 1999, he caught the attention of OHL scouts while playing for the GTHL. After that, he was signed by the London Knights for two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League. While playing for the London Knight, he received the Emms Family Award as the league’s outstanding rookie.
