Ravindrasingh Anirudhsingh Jadeja is an Indian professional cricketer. He is an all-rounder who plays as a left-handed batsman and left-arm orthodox bowler.

Ravindra Jadeja was born on Tuesday, 6 December 1988 (age 35 years; as in 2023) in Navagamghed, Gujarat. Their zodiac sign is Sagittarius. He was brought up in a middle-class family in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
His father wanted him to become an army officer but he was more inclined towards cricket. He started his training for the sport when he was in school. At the age of just 16, he was selected in the Indian Under-19 team.

Ravindra Jadeja belongs to a Hindu family. His father, Anirudh Singh Jadeja, worked as a watchman for a private security agency. His mother, late Lata Jadeja, was a nurse. He has two sisters. His elder sister Naina is a nurse.
Jadeja married Rivaba Solanki on 17 April 2016. The couple have a daughter, Nidhyana, born in 2017.

Jadeja started his cricket career in 2005 with the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. India finished runners-up but in the final against Pakistan, Jadeja impressed everyone by taking 3 wickets. He was the vice-captain of the Indian Under-19 cricket team that won the World Cup in Malaysia in 2008. Ravindra made his ODI debut on 8 February 2009 against Sri Lanka, in which he scored an unbeaten 60 off 77 balls. He was awarded the Man of the Match award for taking 4 wickets in his 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka at Cuttack. His Test debut was in December 2012 against England in Nagpur. He scored his first Test half-century on 20 July 2015 against England. On 22 January 2017, Ravindra became the first Indian left-arm spinner to take 150 One Day International wickets after dismissing Sam Billings at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. In the same year, Jadeja became the top-order bowler, overtaking Ravichandran Ashwin, who previously held the position. His first Test century came in 2018 while playing against West Indies in Rajkot. In March 2019, he became the third cricketer for India to score 2,000 runs and take 150 wickets in ODIs.

Jadeja has also been a part of first class cricket and IPL. He was auctioned by Chennai Super Kings for $2 million in the 2012 IPL auction. In 2016, when Chennai Super Kings were banned from the IPL for two seasons, Jadeja was bought by Gujarat Lions for ₹9.5 crore in the 2016 IPL player auction. He plays for Saurashtra cricket team in first-class cricket.
