Justin Bieber paid a moving tribute to his friend and former roommate, rapper Chris King, who lost his life in a shooting in Nashville.
WKRN News has reported on the tragic incident in which the rapper was shot and killed in Nashville on Saturday, April 20.
King was visiting the Tennessee city to perform at the Cannafestival. It was in an alley where the rapper and his companions were confronted by a group of thieves, who demanded that they hand over their valuables.
Suddenly, a shootout occurred, killing Chris King and injuring a 29-year-old colleague, whose name has not been revealed. Born Christopher Cheeks, King and his friend tried to escape by running in opposite directions when they were shot.
King was later discovered in a parking lot and quickly taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. It was there where the musician finally died from his injuries.
No one else was injured in the accident.
Immediately after the announcement of the artist’s death, friends flooded social media with expressions of love and remembrance. Of course, Justin Bieber was among them.
“I love you bro,” Bieber wrote on his Instagram Story at the time. “This one hurts. Please keep his family in your prayers. See you in paradise brother.”
Last year, King revealed on social media that almost a decade ago, she had shared a house with Bieber for almost a year and a half. She also claimed at the time that Bieber hadn’t changed at all.
King, also known for his work with artist Trippie Redd, was honored on social media by the 24-year-old musician, who paid tribute to him with an emotional post on Instagram. “Original 1400 I love you until we meet again, twin!” he wrote alongside a snapshot of the duo performing.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today without [Chris King] he introduced me to [record label executive Elliot Grainge] & [manager Milo the Light]”Redd added. “He always had the best energy, he had so many friends and it shows that I love them for supporting one of my best friends, my brother.”
No Star Keke Palmer also shared her fond memories of King, accompanied by a photo of them engaging in a video chat.
“Chris King!” Palmer wrote. “I wish I had more photos, but it’s actually perfect. That’s exactly how it started. iChat sessions with you and Marcel on 2Much days. Wow. I can’t believe he’s saying rest in peace. This one is terrible. “I really don’t know what to say.”
