Dr Rana Asif Hussain was born on Tuesday, 14 June 1983 (age 40 years; as of 2023) in Karachi, Pakistan. His zodiac sign is Gemini. From 1996 to 1998, he did his schooling at New Pixy Dale School, Karachi, Pakistan, where he completed his matric in biology sciences. He did his intermediate in pre-medicine studies at Government College for Men Nazimabad, Karachi. He attended the college from 1998 to 2000. He pursued a Bachelor of Pharmacy from 2001 to 2005 at Baqai Medical University, Karachi. From the same university, he did a Doctor of Pharmacy, Clinical, Hospital, and Managed Care Pharmacy from 2005 to 2006. At the university, he further pursued a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.), Natural Products Chemistry, and Pharmacognosy from 2010 to 2013. In May 2011, he worked as a collaborative research fellow at Hussain Ebrahim Jamal Research Institute of Chemistry, Karachi.

Pharmacist & Professor
From March 2005 to August 2006, he worked as a pharmacist at Dr Ziauddin Hospital in Karachi. In 2006, he joined Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi as a pharmacist. After working there for almost two and a half years, he started working at Dr Ziauddin Memorial Hospital Nazimabad and worked there from June 2008 to September 2011. He then attended South City Hospital (Pvt.) Ltd., Karachi as a supervisor/senior pharmacist and worked there till May 2012. In 2013, he started working as a manager of pharmacy at Imam Clinic, North Nazimabad, Karachi, where he worked for less than a year. Apart from working as a pharmacist, he worked as a senior lecturer to pharmacy students at Baqai Medical University in Karachi, from July 2008 to May 2013. In May 2013, he attended the National Institute of Child Health, Karachi, Pakistan, as an incharge TPN & chemo pharmacy. In 2016, he started working as an assistant professor at Baqai Medical University, Karachi.
