He is serving as security detail member for AIADMK member and former Tamil Minister Nadu Edappadi K. Palaniswami in February 2021. The unfortunate incident happened on 21 February 2021, when he was holding the position of Special DGP while driving to Ulundurpet district. . He was accused of harassing a young MUP employee who was traveling in a car with him. His subsequent suspension from office was due to those allegations.
He was charged with violating Sections 354A(2), 341 and 506(1) of the IPC as well as Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Women Harassment Prohibition Act 1998, according to a complaint filed with him by the victim with CBCID -North in Villupuram district. A committee was then formed to investigate the allegations and concluded that they were true. The woman also alleges that Chengalpet Police Chief, D. Kannan, prevented her from pursuing the case.
