Rajendra Shukla is an Indian politician who was appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on 11 December 2023. He is a BJP MLA from Rewa constituency.

Rajendra Shukla was born on Monday, 3 August 1964 (age 59 years; as in 2023) in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Leo. He studied in Government PK School, Rewa. In 1986, he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. When he was young, he took over as college president in 1986. He played an important role in organizing the Youth Conference in 1992.

In 1998, he contested his first assembly elections from BJP but lost by a margin of 1,394 votes. In 2003, he contested the assembly elections from BJP for the second time and became MLA from Rewa seat. He assumed the role of Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Housing and Environment. On 20 December 2008, he was elected MLA from Rewa constituency and started his second term. He was appointed as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, a position he held until 3 July 2016. In 2013, he became MLA from Rewa constituency for the third time and became the Cabinet Minister for Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion. He also held the post of Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation. In 2018, he won the MP Assembly elections against Congress candidate Abhay Mishra by a margin of 18,089 votes and started his fourth term as MLA. From 3 July 2016 to 12 December 2018, he served as the Minister of Industry. On 26 August 2023, he was elected MLA from Rewa constituency for the fifth time. He held the post of Minister of Public Health Engineering from 26 August 2023 to 11 December 2023. On 11 December 2023, he was appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
Controversy
Loss due to promises made during election campaign
A notice was issued against Rajendra in 2019 over a promise made during the 2013 assembly elections. Rajendra assured that he will allot houses to the displaced persons of Rani Talab and Lime Kiln in Rathara under the Integrated Housing and Slum Development Program (IHSDP) scheme. However, since the Corporation Commissioner did not provide any houses under the programme, Rajendra distributed pamphlets about it. Due to this, the displaced families had to take possession of the houses without depositing the required margin money. 15,000.
