I don’t come from a musical family. I did not want to become a singer since childhood. But when I was seven years old, my father was transferred from Nagpur to Mumbai. Once I sang a bhajan for Ganpati festival and someone gave me the address of Suresh Wadekar Institute. After listening to me, Sureshji told my parents that I should take music lessons. I learned music for six years. This is how I became serious about my singing career.
