Rachel Bilson is setting the record straight after Whoopi Goldberg criticized her for comments she made on her podcast.

On the podcast, Rachel originally said: “This is going to sound really judgmental, but if a guy is like 40 years old and he’s slept with four women… But it all depends. Maybe it’s been on for like a decade.[-long] relations. Totally respectable.”
Rachel knew she made a mistake with her comment and quickly clarified on the podcast: “No, I don’t know, it’s not fair for me to say anyway… a person is a person.”
After hearing the comments on Thursday’s (October 5) episode of The viewWhoopi said: “I’m sorry, I think it’s very strange that you’re worried that he’s had sexual partners, any sexual partners. Why is it your business?
He added: “Listen, men, traditionally, were taught to have many sexual partners. That’s how it went. Men could go and do whatever they wanted, but women weren’t supposed to. Now, that’s been changing, and young women have been complaining about, you know, ‘Why are you telling me what I should be?’ [doing?]’Now, it’s happening [the other way around], and you are angry. I don’t understand… If he’s happy with you and you’re having a good time, why are you complaining?
Rachel issued a statement to E.W. in response.
“I mean I’ve been a Whoopi fan for a long time, so when I saw the catchphrase that she was criticizing something I said, of course I was worried,” she said. “We made it a very safe, open place to discuss anything, and we were just talking. I have the power to edit our podcast and I chose to keep the conversation in its entirety, because a lot of times in life you say something and maybe you have a minute and you reflect on it… The point I get What I’m saying is that it doesn’t matter, and maybe in the past I would have looked at it.
