Purnima Pandey was born on Thursday, 16 October 1997 (age 25 years; as in 2022) in Gai Ghat, Varanasi, India. His zodiac sign is Libra. At the age of 10, she started gymnastics at Kashi Gymnasium. She soon started powerlifting. He did not get enough opportunities to pursue powerlifting professionally and took up weightlifting in 2013 after joining the Indian Health Association at the age of 17. Later he did his graduation from Suryabali College, Jaunpur. After training for a few years, he started competing in weightlifting competitions in 2015.

“My father died in 2019 and I had to return to Varanasi to take care of my mother. Since all gyms were closed due to the pandemic, it was difficult to continue practicing. There were also financial constraints. Eventually I joined an akhara on the banks of the Ganges to resume my practice. However, this phase also passed and everything became normal.”
