Puneet Rajkumar first appeared on screen when he was just six months old. Kannada director V. Somashekhar cast him in his thriller film “Premada Kanike”. Subsequently, at the age of one, he became a part of the Kannada language musical film, “Sanadhi Appanna”. The film is based on the novel Kuniyathu Hejje Naliyithu Gejje by Krishnamurthy Puranikkathe and stars Puneeth, Jaya Prada, Ashok, Balakrishna, R. Sampath, Thoogudeepa Srinivas, Papamma and Baby Madhavi. In 1980, Puneet starred in the Dorai-Bhagwan directed romantic drama film “Vasant Geeta”, in which he played the character of Shyam.
