Priyank Panchal is an Indian cricketer who represents the Gujarat team in the domestic circuit. He made headlines after being selected as the third opening batsman in the Indian Test team in place of injured Rohit Sharma for the South Africa tour starting from 26 December 2021 to 15 January 2022. Basically, he is a right-handed batsman who sometimes bowls on the right side. -A medium pace arm for your team.

Priyank Panchal was born on Sunday, 9 April 1990 (age 33 years; as in 2023) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. His zodiac sign is Aries. He started playing cricket at a very young age and got good support from his father. His father maintained a very strict diet for him to ensure his fitness was at its best. For the first time, he started playing for the Under-15 team in the Polly Umrigar Trophy. After this, he started competing at a higher level and soon earned his place in the Ranji team for Gujarat. He was part of the Gujarat team that won the Ranji title in 2016, where Priyank emerged as the leading run-scorer. He also captained the India Red team in the Duleep Trophy, which won the tournament in September 2019.

Priyank Panchal has got a place in the Indian team for South Africa tour 2021/22. Talking about his involvement he said,

“Just three days ago I returned home from South Africa. I hadn’t even unpacked properly, and now, I find myself landing in Mumbai (to join the Team India bio-bubble). “I have been performing well for Gujarat and India ‘A’ for the last few years and I was waiting for this chance for many years, but I did not expect to get this opportunity. It is a pleasant surprise.”

However, this is not the first time that he is representing India on an international platform. Earlier, he was part of the team as a reserve player for the England tour in January 2021. Additionally, he was part of the Indian dressing room for the Nagpur Test in 2012 as a cover replacement.

His first major tournament was the Polly Umrigar Trophy at under-15 level in 2003–04. In 2005–06, he played at under-17 level in the 2005–06 Vijay Merchant Trophy. He scored a century in this tournament. On 27 February 2008, he made his List-A debut for Gujarat against Maharashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he scored 123 runs from 115 balls, which included 17 fours and a six.

The following season, he played his first Ranji match against Saurashtra, which his team won; Gujarat by innings margin. He top-scored in the Ranji Trophy season 2016–17 with 1310 runs in 17 innings at an average of 87.33, helping Gujarat win their first title in the Ranji Trophy. In the same season, he scored 314 runs against Punjab, earning him the title of being the first triple centurion for Gujarat.

In August 2019, he became the captain of the India Red team in the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy. In October 2019, he played for India B in the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy. In 2019, Priyank Panchal scored 160 against Sri Lanka at home. The following year, he scored a century for India A against New Zealand A at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch.
