Cricket
In 2013, Praveen became a member of Rajasthan Royals and played for the team until 2015. In February 2017, he was bought by the team Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs. 10 lakhs. He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2020 IPL auction. In an interview, Praveen, while talking about his debut in cricket at the age of 40, said,
I am passionate about sports. I have always played sports for fun. I wasn’t worried about anything. My aim was just to bowl the right length.”

Praveen became a member of the Mumbai Ranji team in 2000, but he was unable to play in that match. He played for the Mumbai team in the 2013–2014 Ranji Trophy. On 25 February 2017, he played the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

- Praveen received the Golden Wicket Award in the Champions League 2013 for taking the most wickets in the tournament.
- On 5 May 2014, he scored a hat-trick against Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad and also won the man of the match award.

Before making his IPL debut, he played for the Kanga Cricket League, his office and several other cricket clubs. He played in many other competitions in England, including the Liverpool and District cricket competitions.

- In an interview, Praveen talked about the biopic on his cricket journey ‘Who is Praveen Tambe’ and said,
