Prateik Kuhad was born on Friday, 23 March 1990 (age 32 years; as in 2022) in Jaipur city of Rajasthan. His zodiac sign is Aries.

He completed his schooling from Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya, Jaipur. After completing his schooling, he moved to New York and enrolled at New York University’s College of Arts and Sciences, where he double majored in mathematics and economics. At the age of 16, he started learning guitar, which he abandoned after a short time.

livelihood

In 2013, Pratik returned to India to pursue a career in music. They released their first EP (Extended Play) in 2013 titled “Raat Raazi”. His songs are in both English and Hindi.

They released their debut full-length album “In Tokens and Charms” in 2015. The album became an instant hit and gained international recognition.

He made his Bollywood debut as a singer and songwriter with the song “Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan” from the film “Baar Baar Dekho” (2016).

Apart from this, he also writes for advertisements and films. He has performed across India and internationally in countries such as Canada and the US in his world tours.

He likes photography, writing and reading poems and novels.

Prateik grew up listening to Bollywood songs on TV and radio as a child. He also listened to playlists of his parents’ favorite artists—Harry Belafonte and Cliff Richards. She also listened to her sister’s playlist, which included songs by Pink Floyd, Nirvana and Pearl Jam. All these influenced his interest in music.

During his school days, Pratik had a band and also wrote songs but only for fun. He had no plans to pursue a career in music.

While he was in New York, he was inspired by American singer-songwriter Elliot Smith. He also started listening to Indian folk music, which influenced his music and songwriting.

While in New York, he was also composing songs and started performing at local events.

After completing his college, he worked as an economic consultant for four to five months in New York, but later realized that he did not want to do this for the rest of his life. He returned to India and started working on his music.

He has also performed at the South by Southwest music festival with artists such as Alt-J and Mike Posner.

In 2019, former United States President Barack Obama shared his favorite music of 2019, which included Prateek’s album “Cold/Mess”. While sharing his happiness on his Instagram account, Prateek wrote-
This just happened and I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight. Totally flipping. I don’t know how the cold/dirt got to him, but thank you @barackobama, thank you universe 🙂 I didn’t think 2019 could get any better, but I was wrong. what an honor.”
