Early in his career, Prakash Thuminad worked as a supporting actor in Kannada and Tulu cinema. He became a well-known face in the film industry after his performance in the 2017 Kannada language film “Ondu Motteya Kaathe”, in which he played the role of Srinivas.
In 2018, he appeared in the Kannada language film “Katheyondu Shuruvagide”. His performance as Bhujanga in the Kannada language film “Sarkari Hiriya Prathmika Shale, Kasaragodu, Koduge: Ramanna Rai” (2018) was highly appreciated by the audience. In 2020, he played the role of Nara aka Narayan in the Tulu film “2 Acre”. His performance in the Kannada language film “Kanthara” (2022), in which he played the role of Rampa, became his career breakthrough.
Some of his other notable performances in films include Ramanath in the Kannada-language film “Garuda Gaman Vrishabha Vahana” (2021), a bank manager in the Kannada-language film “Kshamasi Nimma Khatheyalli Hanvila” (2022), and Jagganna in the Kannada-language film “Garuda Gaman Vrishabha Vahanam” (2021). - Thuminad rejected 12 film offers to work in the film “Kantara”. Talking about his role in the film in an interview, he said,
When I saw Rishabh sir doing the Daiva dance, I was overwhelmed and felt proud that I am a part of the film.
