Pooja Sharma is the daughter of former Indian cricketer (middle-order batsman) Yashpal Sharma, who played for the Indian cricket team in the 1970s and 80s. Yashpal was a member of the Indian cricket team that won the 1983 World Cup. Pooja’s mother’s name is Renu Sharma.
He has an elder sister, Preeti Sharma, and a younger brother, Chirag Sharma. Preeti lives in America and is married to a Delhi based businessman named Vaibhav Tyagi. Chirag is pursuing his studies in London.

- Pooja lost her father Yashpal Sharma on 13 July 2021. He was 66 years old at the time of his death. His last rites took place at Lodhi cremation ground in New Delhi. Sharma’s former teammates such as Madan Lal and Chetan Sharma attended his funeral.
- Pooja’s father Yashpal Sharma was an important member of the 1983 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team. He was one of the nine cricketers who played all eight World Cup matches. In 2021, a Hindi-language sports film titled ’83’ was released, which depicts the story of India’s incredible Cricket World Cup win in 1983. The role of Yashpal was played by Jatin Sarna (actor) in the film.
- His father was also a member of the national selection committee that selected the Indian team that won the World Cup in 2011.
