Pooja was born on 22 March 1984 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. During her teenage years, she was something of a tomboy. During her school days, she used to participate in many extra-curricular activities. She is good at horse riding, swimming, Bharatnatyam and Kathakali dance. She has also been Karnataka district and state champion in shuttle. While she was in college, she decided to be a part of the entertainment industry and started participating in beauty pageants. She is now one of the famous South Indian actresses and has worked in different languages like Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.

She is a beautiful, talented and hardworking Indian girl who stands around 5′ 4″ tall and weighs around 55 kg. She has dark brown eyes and black hair.

She did her schooling from Baldwin Girls High School, Bengaluru and Staines Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. He did his graduation (B.Sc.) in Visual Communication from Bishop Appasamy College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. At the age of 8, he did his first TV commercial and at the age of 18, he did his first Malayalam film, Yatrakarude Shraddhakku. In 2004, she won the title of Miss Coimbatore beauty pageant. In 2005, she participated in the Miss Kerala beauty pageant where she was the runner-up.

In 2006, she won the pan India talent hunt, VJ Factor 2, in Southern Spice (SS) Music, along with Purnima Moudgil, Anuj Gurwara and Jibran. After that, he started working as a VJ at SS Music in Chennai.
In 2009, Pooja participated in an adventure show, Anu Alavum Byamilai Season 1, where she was declared the winner. In 2012, she got the role of Kaithi in the Tamil film Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi.
