Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the first games in the franchise’s ninth generation. Although broken and suffering from several performance issues, the games are still highly entertaining, thanks mainly to the fascinating creatures that have long been the franchise’s bread and butter.
Indeed, Gen IX introduces several powerful Pokémon that make the games worthwhile. These mighty Pokémon rank as Paldea’s strongest and most impressive specimens, challenging the region’s toughest Trainers on their quest to achieving Champion rank. Their Stat totals are so high that they might actually rival some of the series’ most powerful Legendaries.

Kingambit – 550
Bisharp is one of Generation V’s most popular Pokémon. Famous for its incredibly cool design and unique type combination, Bisharp is one of the franchise’s undeniable stars. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet increase its already grand reputation by giving it a new evolution, the equally impressive Kingambit.
With a samurai-inspired design, Kingambit is striking at first sight; however, its incredible stats make it all the more iconic. Kingambit has a 550 Stat Total that heavily favors Physical Attack and Defense at the expense of Speed and Special Attack. It’s a fair trade, but Trainers need to be careful when using it, considering its four-times weakness to Fighting.
Scarlet Paradox Forms – 570
Many Pokémon desperately need a regional form, but Scarlet and Violet made several inspired choices. From the overlooked Gen II elephant Donphan to Misdreavus and Ammonguss, the Paradox Forms in Scarlet give these classic Pokémon a wild and ancient looks, along with a massive stat boost.
All but one of Scarlet‘s Paradox forms have a Stat Total of 570, making them some of Paldea’s most powerful creatures. Their stat distribution varies, with some Pokémon having higher Speed while others enjoy higher Physical or Special attributes. However, they all have the same Stat Total, and any Trainer would be lucky to have them on their team.
Violet Paradox Forms – 570

Violet‘s Paradox forms take a more futuristic approach than their Scarlet counterparts. They also have a tighter bond, with all their names beginning with the word “Iron.” These Paradox forms are as strong as Scarlet‘s, with all but one having Stat Totals of 570.
Similarly, Violet‘s Paradox forms have unique stat distributions. For example, Iron Bundle, Delibird’s futuristic relative, has the highest Speed stat in Generation IX, while Iron Hands, Hariyama’s cousin from the future, has a ridiculously high HP stat of 154. All these Iron Pokémon are powerful, each bringing a unique approach to battling.
Treasures Of Ruin – 580
Legendary Pokémon usually come in trios. However, Generation IX flips the script by introducing a quartet, the Treasures of Ruin. These Pokémon have Dark as their primary type, each having a unique secondary typing: Ting-Lu has Ground, Chien-Pao has Ice, Wo-Chien has Grass, and Chi-Yu has Fire.
The Treasures of Ruin share the same Stat Total: 580. However, each has a unique distribution to highlight its distinctive battling capabilities. Ting-Lu excels in HP, Chien-Pao has impressive Speed, Wo-Chien is a Special Defense beast, and Chi-Yu has a mighty strong Special Attack. One look at these incredible stats should be enough to justify their place among the franchise’s best Legendaries.
Roaring Moon – 590
Roaring Moon is one of Scarlet‘s Paradox Forms, an ancient relative of the powerful Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon Salamence. However, unlike its fellow Paradox forms, Roaring Moon has a Stat Total of 590, twenty points higher than its comrades.
Special Attack becomes Roaring Moon’s main strength, skyrocketing to a massive 139 and dwarfing nearly every other stat. Its Speed is also quite impressive, sitting at an incredible 119. Roaring Moon’s dual Dragon/Dark-type might benefit more from a higher Special Attack, but capable players should have no trouble finding powerful Physical attacks to make the most out of this fearsome dragon’s attributes.
Iron Valiant – 590
Gallade arrived in Generation IV as an alternate evolution for the Ralts line and became an instant star. To this day, it has received more than enough attention, including receiving a Mega Evolution in Gen VI. Gen IX added another addendum to its lore by introducing Iron Valiant, Gallade’s Violet-exclusive futurist relative.
Like Roaring Moon in Scarlet, Iron Valiant is the only Paradox form in Violet that doesn’t share a 570 Stat Total; instead, it has a higher 590. Iron Valiant has high Physical and Special Attack and Speed, average Physical Defense, and below-average HP and Special Defense, making it a powerful but somewhat frail option in battle.
Baxcalibur – 600
Although many Pokémon are often confused for Pseudo Legendaries, only a select few have the privilege of belonging to such a select group. Usually, there’s only one Pseudo per region, with Hoenn being the only exception. Paldea’s Pseudo is Baxcalibur, a dual Dragon/Ice-type accessible absurdly late in the games.
Like every other Pseudo-Legendary, Baxcalibur has a Stat Total of 600. Unlike other Pseudos, however, its stats aren’t exactly balanced. It has a ridiculously high 145 Physical Attack and a great 115 HP stat; however, they come at the expense of every other stat, which sits uncomfortably in the “average” range. Still, Baxcalibur is a Pseudo, and any Trainer would give anything to have one on their team.
Palafin Hero Form – 650
Alternate forms are a fan-favorite gimmick in Pokémon. Those lucky Pokémon who have them usually receive a considerable stat boost, becoming massively powerful, even if only for a short while. Palafin, the franchise’s first-ever dolphin Pokémon, is Gen IX’s lucky candidate to receive the coveted alternate form thanks to its trademark ability, Zero to Hero.
With its one-of-a-kind ability, Palafin can transform into its Hero form and watch its stats skyrocket to a whopping 650; that’s stronger than Paldea’s Pseudo-Legendary! Palafin’s Hero form is the equivalent of a Mega Evolution; nearly all its stats receive a considerable boost, but Physical Attack increases to an absurd 160, meaning it will most likely OHKO any unlucky chum that crosses its way.
Miraidon -670
Box-art Legendaries are among the strongest Pokémon in the franchise. They are usually the most powerful creatures in their respective games, accessible only to the toughest and most capable Trainers in the land; Miraidon, Violet‘s Electric/Dragon-type box-art Legendary, is no exception.
With a Stat Total of 670, Miraidon is tied with its Scarlet counterpart as Generation IX’s most powerful Pokémon. It’s a Speed and Special Attack powerhouse, although nearly all its Stats are above-average. Physical Attack is the only attribute where it lags, but it’s still one of the franchise’s most impressive beings.
Koraidon – 670
Logically, Miraidon’s Scarlet counterpart, Koraidon, is Paldea’s other mighty Pokémon. Like its futuristic homonym, Koraidon has a 670 Stat Total, although its distribution differs considerably.
Koraidon, a dual Fighting/Dragon-type, excels in Physical Attack and Defense while also possessing an enviable Speed stat of 135. As a counterpart of Miraidon, Koraidon’s least impressive stat is Special Attack, which stands at a somewhat disappointing 85. However, Koraidon’s most powerful attacks, including its signature move, Collision Course, are all Physical, meaning this wonderful creature will always come out on top.
